Dear All,

How are you enjoying the winter weather. We are sharing toasty warm fires with our grandson and daughter who are visiting from Darwin. To them the weather is very cold.

It was great to welcome some of the new students as well as “old” students to the Plenary Day on 12th June. We had people studying at 4 levels of the course here that day which made for lots of learning.

Practicals in 2nd Semester

We now have dates for the Practical Units in all Tutorial centres. These are primarily for students who are studying Counselling Practice Units to gain the necessary 50 practical hours. Students of Theoretical units attend Tutorials hours. If you are studying a Theory subject and wish to attend the Practical you need to discuss this with the Tutor involved. The Tutor determines if the Theory student may stay for the whole Practical. There are no Practical chits given to Theory students for this. Students studying the Art Sand Dreams and Drama course will need to organise their Practical with the Tutor, so tell us you are coming beforehand.

Inverell Practical/Tutorial

Lois will run Practicals at the Inverell Vicarage

*16th, 17th and 18th July (Friday —Sunday) and

*30th September,1st, 2nd and 3rd October (Friday night—Monday) .

You will need to register for the July Practical by the preceding Monday (12th July) by sending the form to Lois at PO Box 766 Inverell 2360.

This will enable the catering details to be finalised. Alternately ring Lois on Ph 6722 2279.

Tutorials in Inverell will continue on the first Saturday of each month at Lois’s place.

Moree Practical/Tutorial

Wendy has set Saturdays on the 31st July and 21st August as the dates for practical work at Moree Anglican Counselling Centre from 9—4 . Wendy’s contact Phone number is 6752 3419. Moree Tutorials are run on the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 9 to 1 at the Centre.

Uralla Practical

Lynn will be running 2 Saturday Tutorials on September 18 and October 23 from 9.30—4.00 in the Uralla Anglican Church Hall.

Lynn’s can be contacted on Ph 6772 9753.

At present Lynn’s Tutorials are 9 to 12 on the 1st Monday each month in the Anglican Counselling Rooms in Armidale.

Tamworth Practical

With the help of Tamworth ACS staff I will run tutorials Friday night and all day Saturday from 7—10 and 9—4.30 on the following weekends:

2nd 3rd July,

13th 14th August,

3rd, 4th Sept and

12th 13th November.

Tutorial sessions will run from 9 to 12 on those dates as well. This will mean a change from the regular 2nd weekend of each month.

Self Awareness Courses

There are Know Yourself Courses planned in the centres of Uralla and Baradine in July/August.

Library News

Requests for books, journals and periodicals are to be made to the Tamworth LRCCS Office. Phone 02 6762 5210 or Fax 6762 5740 and leave a message stating your: NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER, BOOKTITLE, AUTHOR AND EDITION (if needed). Copies of journal articles require the signing of a request form which you return to us to satisfy the copyright laws.

From the Desk

We request students return study tapes at the end of each unit. Students may make their own copies of the tapes. The main reason for this is we do not have a tape multicopier. Copying the tapes manually is a tedious business so we request their return to ease this work load on Colleen. This seems to bother some students. I wonder what would be a solution to this ?
