Dear All,It’s nice to be walking on 2 feet and relatively mobile although it’s still a balancing act. I am discovering that broken bones do not go back together as easily as they break. My apologies that you did not receive a Student Newsletter last month. I wanted to include the dates for the Practical Weekends in the Second Semester and this has taken some time to organise and check with all the individuals concerned. Now we have dates, a place and staff. Residential PracticalsThere will be two Residential Practicals in the second Semester. These will be conducted over two 3 day weekends in Larraine and Allan White’s Abbey at Manilla in August and October. Application forms may be obtained from the Secretary of the LRCCS Management Committee. Library NewsWhen you are looking for support material for your assignments it is important to make sure that the writers you quote are knowledgeable about the topic and is recognised as such by other experts in that field. We assignments markers are concerned at the number of unknown internet sources which are being referenced in assignments. Any Internet reference you refer to in an assignment is to be downloaded and sent with the assignment. The reference lists for each unit contain books that are available in the LRCCS Library collection as are the journal articles. Jane Lepp, the new LRCCS Library assistant in Tamworth, has been locating these for use by students. Photocopies of these are available on request for 10c a page. In addition to the local Library collections you may request books from the larger LRCCS collection. Each centre has a copy of the list of the collection so students can request these books by leaving a message on my phone (02) 6762 5210, emailing LRCCS, writing or faxing. From the DeskThe submission for Reaccreditation of the Course is in it’s final stages thanks to Drs Robyn Smyth and Catherine Hungerford. I thank them for all their work. Thanks everyone, Best wishes,Jenny |
