Dear All,

Welcome to all new students. There are now over 40 students from as far a-field as Sydney, Urunga, Tambar Springs and Armidale.

While I think that it is important for you to read this newsletter there are two extra documents in this mail out which require your attention.

1.  Since 2 students have been nominated for the Student’s Representative position on the LRCCS Board there are ballot papers for you all to complete and return to elect one of these.

2.  All students who plan to attend the Residential Practical, in August in Manilla, need to let us know by returning the registration form to the LRCCS Office to reserve their places.

Tutorials/Practicals

Please notify the Tutors that you plan to attend.

Tamworth Tutorial

The Tamworth Tutorial will be held on the usual second Saturday in July ie the 9th. We meet at 88 Bridge St from 9.00am till 1.00pm

Inverell Tutorial

As Lois and Catherine will be running a Know Yourself Course in Dubbo on the 1st and 3rd weekends in July the Tutorial at Inverell will run on the 23rd June and not on the usual 1st Saturday weekend.

Armidale/Uralla Practical/Tutorial

There will be a 4 hour Tutorial in the Counselling Rooms in the Anglican Registry in Armidale on July 1 1.00—5.00 followed by a Practical day on the 2nd July 9.30 to 5.00 in the Uralla Anglican Church Hall. Lynn’s phone number is 6772 9753.

Moree

There will be a Tutorial on 12th July 9.00—1.00 at the Wesley Centre in Frome Street.

Residential Practicals

There will be two Residential Practicals in the second Semester. These will be conducted in Larraine and Allan White’s Abbey at Manilla .

Dates: 26—29th August

30th September—3rd October

Any students who plan to come to the August Practical must complete the Registration Form and return it to the LRCCS Office in Tamworth.

This form will indicate who and what to us….who is coming and what they require. The closing date is Aug 20th but early registration is recommended to ensure your place.

Library News

Counselling Journals

The LRCCS Library subscribes to receive a copy of PSYCHOZ journal every quarter. These journals are kept in the Tamworth Collection. A copy of the Contents page of the journal is sent to each centre and placed in a folder. This enables students and counsellors to discover what is being written and source articles that relate to work and study.

Students can request these or any textbooks by leaving a message on my phone (02) 6762 5210, emailing LRCCS, writing or faxing the office.

Plenary Day

Our gathering of students from all centres is planned for Uralla on the 17th September, 2005.

From the Desk

After hours of unpaid work by Robyn, Catherine, Brian, Carol and Lois the submission for Reaccreditation of the Course is to be posted this week...6 month early as requested.

In this document we have included descriptions of short Counselling Skills Courses that focus on particular areas of interest eg Children, Grief. This was suggested by a Youth Ministry in Sydney whose workers wanted to learn more but not undertake study for a degree.
