Dear All,

There are now over 50 LRCCS students. This includes people from Brisbane, Dubbo, Mudgee and Gunnedah. Welcome to you all. Please join us for the College groups ie Tutorials, Plenary Day and Residentials. They are run to assist you to learn.

It was great to meet with the 17 students who attended the Residential Practical at Manilla last weekend. We all enjoyed the atmosphere and the wonderful hospitality of Allen and Larraine at the Abbey . I’d like to thank them for making us so welcome in their wonderful old convent.

Of course the students worked very hard. Tutors Wendy and Betty provided well thought out course material which clearly described what we were aiming to achieve. I especially want to thank them for their careful oversight of the students and other Tutors as they practiced counselling.

Residential Practical

The next Residential Practical at Manilla is on the October long weekend so the Registration Form is included in this newsletter.

New students are encouraged to attend.

The closing date for registration is the 21st of September.

Plenary Day on September 17

Although the college is spread across a wide area we try to get students together at Plenary Days where we use demonstrations, presentations, small group work and discussions to explore aspects of counsellor training and the College.

This is the only Plenary Day planned for 2005.

It begins at 10.00 for 10.30 at Uralla Anglican Church Hall in Park Street.

Morning and Afternoon Tea will be provided at a small charge. Please bring your lunch so we can eat together and continue the social interactions.

Library

When looking for a book in the Library use the printed Subject List to identify the relevant Dewey Number for that subject. This number is written on the spine of the book. Use this number to look for extra texts about the topic on the shelves.

From the Desk

When sending your assignments to PO Box 3052 in Tamworth please write the Course number as well as your name and address on the back of the envelope.

This will enable us to direct the assignment to the appropriate marker without opening the envelope as there are now 4 markers in Tamworth.

Best wishes with your studies and you personal work,

 Jenny
