Dear All,

I hope you all had a reflective Easter and an enjoyable break from the usual routines.

Our family entertained three visitors from America. My friend Linda brought her 2 adult children to her favourite country. It is interesting to show people where we live. Seeing it through their eyes can bring a new perspective to things we take for granted like bird calls at breakfast and relaxing talk with friends over cups of tea.

It’s like the meta view we may offer a client of the issue they have presented. We reframe their view. For example a nursing sister who had organised surgery for her mother at her place of work was frustrated to have the surgery offered at the mother’s hospital…“Perhaps its better for her to be treated where she lives. Your efforts helped that”.

Manilla June Practical Weekend

The Practical weekend at Manilla will again be held at the White’s beautiful Abbey on the first weekend in June.  We will begin work on the Friday night and work through Saturday to Sunday at 4.00pm.  Students are asked to commit to attending for the duration of the practical.

A Residential brochure with an enrolment section is enclosed with this newsletter.  All students who are intending to attend need to complete this and mail it back by the due date as it reserves your place in the practical.  If you plan to stay at the Abbey you can book this on the same form.  If you plan to stay somewhere else you need to make you own arrangements and reservations.

Library

There is a collection of training videos in the Tamworth Library.  They are not for borrowing but students may view these in the Library.

They are to be copied to DVD to preserve them.

From the Desk

Lois has written a “Musing” for this “What’s It”.  It is inside this newsletter so please open it up.

If you need to contact the College please approach your Tutor first.  If you need further assistance or if I am your Tutor please ring the Tamworth office (Ph 6762 5210).  Nancy Christie (a LRCCS graduate) and Fran Tiernan (Administration Officer) arrange their work schedules to ensure that the office is staffed each day so that enquiries are attended to as soon as possible.

Only call Ruth and Cheryl (Ph 6765 2527) for enquiries about enrolments and payment.  As this number is the phone number of the Anglican Counselling Service it needs to be clear for the clients of the Service.

Best wishes,

Jenny
