Scholarship applications due August 26

Dear All,

Sometimes there are issues that hang over for us after a Practical. It is important to address these. We need to learn to be aware of and seek attention for our own needs.

Since the College has students who are scattered across NSW it is necessary to use the people we have around us...the tutors, counsellors or to ring the LRCCS Office to make a time to speak to me.

Each person is different in what causes problems and what will assist with the resolution of that problem. In the same way each client is different and the appropriate thing to do with each client will be different depending on the client, the counsellor the situation and many other variables. This is why we follow the client and do not apply set rules.

Residential Practical

This newsletter contains the registration form for the final Residential Practical will be held in Manilla this year on September the 8th, 9th and 10th.

The Programme includes a framework for counselling over several sessions and case studies.

Library

New items in the Libraries include the LRCCS Unit Outlines (in a Buff cover), the Student Handbook and the Policies and Procedures.

Have you noticed a folder of contents pages from the Psychotherapy journal which is purchased regularly as part of the Library resources.

You may order any article to be photocopied in Tamworth and posted to you for a small charge.

Practical Requirements

There is a requirement that students complete 50 hours of Practical work while studying at Level 1 and 75 hours of Practical work during Level 2. Of course students usually do more practical hours than this at Tutorials and Residential Practicals. It is important to keep a record of this as well.

Student’s Practical Chits are to be sent to the LRCCS office by the student at the completion of each Level so that their compliance with this requirement can be recorded.

Chits for hours in excess of Practical requirements at that Level are also to be sent in to be recorded at this time.

From the Desk

Please send all assignments to the LRCCS Office so they can be tracked through the system.

When your assignment is marked things like word count and lateness are taken into consideration in the mark that is allocated.

When you have completed all the assignments for a unit you are not credited with that unit until you comply with all the requirements on the Unit Exit Form and send the completed Unit Exit form to the LRCCS office. Then your results are recorded and the Unit Certificate issued and posted with the next What’s It.

Best wishes,

Jenny
