Dear All,It’s the end of another year for us all. At this time I want to acknowledge and thank all the people who give of their time so generously to maintain the College and to help lift it to the next level. Some individuals assume more than one role in LRCCS. This has been the history of the college because it is a small organisation. Volunteers who worked consistently include: Colleen Todd, who photocopies and mails out the books; Librarians Barbara James, who put a lot of work into the relocation of the Tamworth Library, Jane Lepp who presently organises course material and has transferred the hundreds of hours of ACS training material to DVDs, Ann Mason at Inverell, and departing Moree assistant Glenda McGrath; Nancy Christie answers the College phone 3 mornings a week; and Betty Yeaman, who’s Listening Skills course is part of Level 1. The members of LRCCS Boards contribute to the direction of LRCCS. These include Dr Frances Mackay, Dr Robyn Smyth and Dr Elaine Barclay, Mrs Elaine Croft and Mr Richard Austin, the Student Representative. Employed staff include Lois Reid, Wendy Long, Dr Catherine Hungerford and Lynn McClenahan who all perform a number of roles as Tutors and/or Markers as well as serving on Boards and Committees. Rev Brian Kirk, Executive Director of the Anglican Counselling Service, has assisted with direction and Policy of the College. There are two other dedicated markers: Dr Joy Harris and Mrs Sharon Kirk. The Administration staff includes Ruth Blakely, Cheryl Cottrell, Fran Tiernan, Meryl Gowing, Carol Mackerras and Rosemary Marshall. I want to recognize the role of all these people in forging a ongoing Rural Counselling College. FarewellI especially want to acknowledge the support Rev Brian Kirk has given to me personally and to the College in his time as Executive Director of ACS. May God bless you and Sharon, Brian, as you leave the Counselling Service and Tamworth. From the DeskFran will no longer be responsible for student records as she has moved onto other duties. She will still be a friendly voice on the end of the LRCCS phone when she has the time. It’s been a difficult year for the College with the reaccreditation stretching right through last year and this and on to the New Year. It has affected our ability to attract new students and to advertise the course and been an ongoing extra responsibility. As the next reaccreditation meeting is scheduled for late January all should be well when next we meet. Have a happy peaceful Christmas,Jenny |
