Dear All,Isn’t it wonderful that some of the drought stricken country has had rain. The unfolding emerald green on the paddocks is a great sight. I am sorry that this newsletter is later than usual. I have had some more surgery on my leg which has slowed me down temporarily. As you know the Diploma was reaccredited and the College reregistered as a training organisation last June. We were asked to answer a number of concerns about the degree, as the bench mark has lifted since the last accreditation. We have made adjustments and answered all the queries in the resubmission. The Higher Education Panel meeting will take place this Thursday (8 March) to reconsider whether LRCCS will be able to offer the Degree to new students. Continuing students will not be affected. Plenary DayThis is a day for discussion and fellowship. Barraba Anglican Church Hall 28th July 10.00 for 10.30 — 3.30 Please make suggestions about any counselling issues you would like to have addressed. WorkshopsLast newsletter I indicated that students were welcome to attend the Anglican Counselling Service In-service training when it is appropriate and that students were welcome to all the sessions in 2007. Unfortunately this is not the case for the Dr Arch Heart session which is for ACS Employees only. Students are welcome to Dr Rod Cooper’s workshop , which is an extension of
the work he began with students last year at the Manilla Residential. May 8 Dr Rod Cooper—Engaging Children in Play Therapy. West Diggers Club, Cable Ave ,Tamworth 9.30am — 3pm Limited places. Cost $15 (pay on the day) Bookings 6765 2527 From the DeskIt was disappointing that there were only 2 applications for Scholarships filed by the closing date. Three scholarships are offered twice a year and cover the payment of half the cost of a unit. Students may apply for successive scholarships. They are not for students in the second part of the Know Yourself Course. Let’s pray for God’s blessing on the College and the Counselling Service. It’s an amazing organisation. Best wishes,Jenny |
