Dear All,

Welcome to our new students. It is very exciting to have you join us!

The decision not to re-accredit the College and the course by the HEB has been tough for all of us. All of the College’s boards and committees are working to ensure the course is accredited as soon as possible. Thank you to everyone who has, and continues to, stand by the College. We have had many messages of support which has given us the will to continue the fight. I would also like to thank the prayer warriors out there who have been faithful in raising the College and the needs of the students and staff before God. I believe the College will continue to grow and prosper and that a way forward will be found as “...all things are possible with God.” (Mark 10:27b).

Academic Integrity

Just a reminder to all students about Plagiarism. At the beginning of any Academic Year colleges and universities remind students on this subject and we felt it appropriate to do so as well. The internet has made this a real possibility and the temptation is for students to ‘download’ information and incorporate it in their assignments. This does not mean they are freely available to use in your assignments without full referencing. Information on the internet is not always accurate and in the case of some sources, such as Wikepedia, can be altered by anyone.

When using quotes in an assignment they need to be embedded into your writing using quotation protocols. i.e. “quotation marks, indentation (if more than 15 words), use of italics and appropriate references”.

Be aware that there are hidden clues that are embedded into information on the internet that speaks clearly to markers and academic experts so that they can identify that it is from a website.

Accreditation Update

By now all students should have received a letter from the Chairman of the Academic Board about the Accreditation. Please remember you can receive debriefing and free counselling for 4 sessions through the Anglican Counselling Service.  Please let us know if you have not received this letter.

We understand that there has been some concern raised about whether the LRCCS staff have adequate qualifications. The Panel that assessed the accreditation application did not seem to be aware that the Bachelor of Counselling that both Lois and Jenny hold is a post graduate qualification which means they meet the requirements for teaching a degree level course.
