How to use the Library

Dear All,

It was lovely to see so many of you at our Tamworth Residential Practical. All of our new students attended which gave them a chance to get to know the wider College, not just people from their own tutorial group.

I know many of our students completing the Degree/Diploma are wondering what is happening with them. We were to know by the end of April if we would be able to ‘teach out’ those students. The April meeting of the Higher Education Board at which this was to be decided was not held. The next meeting is scheduled for early May. We will advise you of the outcome as soon as we know ourselves. Please keep praying that God will guide the decision makers.

The next Residential Practical will be conducted in

bullet

Manilla: Wednesday 8th to 10th October

Feedback on the Tamworth Residential Practical has been very positive.  It was good for our new students to work on their microskills and for our more experienced students to be introduced to Narrative Therapy and do some cushion work.

The Mental Health Mental Illness workshop was well attended (almost too well attended—it was a little squishy!).  We had a good mix of students, counsellors and community workers.  We were all provided with an opportunity to learn what clues to look for when dealing with clients.

Thank you to everyone who taught (or assisted teaching) the students at the Residential Practical—Dr Catherine Hungerford, Dot McEachern, Jenny Regan, Lois Reid and Betty Yeaman.  Your willingness to share your knowledge and skill was of great benefit to everyone who attended.
