Dear All,

It is with sadness that we announce the resignation of Lois.  How do you adequately express the contribution Lois has made to LRCCS?  Starting the College, writing course notes, setting up systems, forms and processes, tutoring many hundreds of students, running residentials, the list goes on and on!

So many people have been profoundly influenced by Lois.  We will all miss her and wish her God’s many blessings as she moves on to a new stage in her life.  Thank you Lois for all that you have done.

Tutorials & Practicals

Inverell Tutorial

There will be no further tutorials at Inverell in 2008. Dates for proposed tutorials in 2009 will be advised in next month’s What’s It

Tamworth Tutorial

The next Tamworth Tutorial will be on November 8. It will be held at 88 Bridge Street.

Armidale Tutorial

The next Armidale Tutorial will be run by Jenny on Saturday, November 1 and will be held at the Anglican Counselling Service rooms in the Diocesan Registry. 9.30 am — 4.30 pm.

Please note that you must ring 6762 5210 to register as if there are only 2 people attending this Tutorial will be cancelled.

Moree Tutorial

The next Moree Tutorial will be run by Wendy on 6th December and will be held at the Wesley Centre in Frome Street. 9.30 am to 3.30 pm.

Manilla Residential

What a great experience was the Manilla Residential! Feedback from students was very positive. There was a lot of learning, challenging and growing going on. Thank you to both tutors and students for your willingness to both teach and learn.

Once again everyone loved the food and wonderful hospitality at the Abbey. Thank you to Allen and Larraine for being part of making the residential a wonderful time.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Workshop

Students are invited to attend the above workshop.  Ilana Karpin will be conducting this workshop on the theory and use off Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).   DBT is often used with Borderline Personality Disorder.

When: 8th and 9th December 2008

Time: 9.30 am to 4.30 pm

Where: Wests’ Diggers Club, Kable Ave TAMWORTH

Cost: $160 for LRCCS students (normally $250)

Practice, Practice, Practice

Just a reminder to take every opportunity to practice your counselling microskills.  Don’t just use family and friends, use them with every person you interact with.  Every time you practice you are learning and building your skills.
