Dear All, Now you are all back working on your counselling studies I want to encourage you to set a regular time aside, at least one day each week, to read and write. Any learning is best approached in small regular increments. The study of counselling includes learning and practice of specific skills, understanding work related requirements as well as encountering and making sense of a body of new knowledge. To absorb this range of material takes concentration and repeated exposure to the course material. Give yourselves the best opportunity of maximise your opportunity to study counselling by regular study. Tutorials Moree 6th March 9.0—4.0 Please note the change of address: 46 Dover Street, Moree. Call 6752 3419 to register Tamworth March Tutorial cancelled . It was decided to cancel the Tamworth March tutorial as both Jenny and Fran will be attending the Anglican Counselling Service Retreat . The next Tamworth Tutorial will run on April 10th Armidale 20th March 9.0—4.0. Please remember to call in and book. In Armidale call 6772 9753 to register. Short Courses There will be a 'Know Yourself Course' run in Tamworth in March/April. For further details of the KYC course including dates call the CCS office 67 625210. Other short courses, which are conducted by the Anglican Counselling Service include Listening for Relating, Anger Management or Conflict Resolution. We recommend that student counsellors attend these. Tamworth Residential. The first 2010 Residential Practical was held at the College building at 88 Bridge Street on 20th and 21st February. Fourteen students practiced strategies for managing couple counselling. Students from different levels working together enables newer students to benefit from the experience of senior students who learn from the combined challenge of couple counselling and leading others. One problem that does occur each residential is that some people come for one day only. In order to allow triads to work effectively it becomes necessary for those people to act only as observers. Please set aside the full time for residentials in order to get the most from the practical opportunities. Lost property - We have a motherless drinking container which can be claimed by calling during office hours. A Course for Christian Counsellors Numerous workshops with well known presenters at North Parramatta in Sydney on Saturday, March 27 from 8:30 to 5:30, Cost for students is $110.
