Dear All,
My news is that I did finally graduate with the Masters in Counselling on
Saturday. It was a day of celebration and sadness. There was celebration because
the degree represented me overcoming my difficulties with the system as well as
managing the study hours. It is sad because I have now completed 3 degrees at
UNE at Armidale. The Uni has been a part of all my adult life. I will probably
not study at UNE again. But never say never…
The study of counselling is a journey into many varied disciplines with its
breadth of the ideas, motivation and delivery modes.

Residential Advanced Notice

set this time aside in order to attend.
While studying counselling it is important to attend residentials and tutorials
to gain and retain the subtle skills required as they are lost without regular
use.
Residential Registrations
It is essential to attend the entire residential. Registrations should be made
by the deadline so that catering and accommodations can be arranged Registration
forms and more information to follow.
Workshop
The workshop on Suicide Prevention, Domestic Violence and Child Abuse was an
amazing affair, in spite of the sober nature of the topic.
It was great to experience the mix of counsellors, support workers from the
women’s refuge and students all learning together.
The enthusiasm of the presenter, Cath Hutchison, was contagious. She presented
her take on the new research which demonstrates the ability of the brain to
rewire itself, to adapt and change so that old ideas and responses can be
replaced by more helpful ones.
Tamworth bookshops were stormed by the participants so by the second day had
sold all their copies of
“The Brain that Changes Itself” by N. Doidge.
