LRCCS Scholarship Fund

LRCCS is committed to assisting as many students from the Anglican Diocese of Armidale as possible to complete its courses.  This includes assisting those students who may be struggling financially, such as those associated with the prolonged drought. The intent of the Scholarship Fund is to assist students who are studying within the North-West region, as having a trained counsellor is seen as a way of building capacity within rural communities.

To assist such students, a scholarship fund has been established, sponsored by a variety of bodies, including service clubs, church parishes and their councils, and individuals .

Each scholarship awarded will pay either half of the course fees for one unit, or text books and other study material required.

Scholarships are awarded in March and September each year.  The number of scholarships awarded will vary with the amount donated each year. The student newsletter, the What’s It... will contain news of the number of scholarships available.

Applications

Applications for scholarships will be accepted at any time through the year, but are assessed only twice a year, in late February and late August.

Only one application per student will be considered at each round, however students may apply for a scholarship at each round for as long as they are still studying at LRCCS.

Evidence of Need

As the Scholarship Fund was set up to assist students in financial need, you will have to provide evidence of this.

You may attach to the Application whatever documentation you feel will best enable the Scholarship Committee to make their decision.  Suggested documentation includes:

bulletPersonal Reference(s) or Statements of Support,
bulletCopy of ATO Assessments for last 2 years;
bulletOutline of Income and Expenditure in current financial year.

Applicants who are in most financial need, will receive first preference.
