The teaching staff of LRCCS are all trained and accredited counsellors with at least 5 years of counselling experience. They also hold formal qualifications in general education and/or Adult Education. Adjunct lecturers are also employed by LRCCS to provide training in special topics.
The Principal:Mrs Jenny Regan BEd BCoun Since becoming a Primary Teacher in the 1960's, Mrs Regan has taught at all levels from Pre-school to High School. She has degrees in teaching and counselling and is currently doing a Masters, focusing on counselling Indigenous Australians. Mrs Regan has been counselling with ACS since 1997 and has previously held the position of Community Education Manager at ACS. Mrs Regan helped write the first course accreditation submission to the NSW Higher Education Board in 2000-2003 which led to the accreditation of the LRCCS degree and the creation of the Lois Reid College of Counselling Studies.
The Tutors:Dr Catherine Hungerford (Tamworth) Dr Hungerford was awarded her PhD in Communication Studies in 2004 and worked with Miss Reid to re-write the Level 1 Communication unit for LRCCS. She completed a counselling internship with the Anglican Counselling Service in 2000-2003, joining the staff of ACS as a relationship counsellor in 2004. Dr Hungerford also works for Mental Health ACT as the Clinical Support Officer. Mrs Wendy Long (Moree) Mrs Long was part of Miss Reid's second group of trainees, and has been with the Anglican Counselling Service since 1987. Mrs Long trained as a nurse and has worked as a Ward Sister and Director of Nursing. She is currently a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative Care. Mrs Jenny Regan (Tamworth) Mrs Regan is the Principal of the Lois Reid College of Counselling Studies and continues to practice as a counsellor with the Anglican Counselling Service in Tamworth. Miss Lois Reid (Inverell) Miss Reid has trained as a nurse and teacher, and worked on Groote Eylandt for 17 years, training local staff to replace her in the classroom and library. Since 1985, she has been working for the Anglican Counselling Service, counselling and training counsellors for the region. The Bachelor of Counselling Studies (and Diploma in Counselling Studies) developed from the training courses Miss Reid has written and delivered over the last 20 years. Mrs Betty Yeaman (Tamworth) Mrs Yeaman has spend 20 years as a Lifeline telephone counsellor, trainer and supervisor. She has done clinical and advocacy work with Indigenous Australians whilst working as a registered nurse. Having started her training with ACS in 1999, Mrs Yeaman was the Manager of Supervision with ACS until 2007: She currently conduct a private counselling practice and runs community education groups .
The Support StaffOther people that you will come in contact with at LRCCS are: Mrs Kathryn Cramer: Kathryn is the Registrar. Kathryn's main responsibility is to handle general enquiries, fee payments and periodic payment scheduling and enrolments. Kathryn manages the bulk of administrative tasks including manning the phones between 9am & 12 pm daily, keeping student files correct, compiling the monthly What’s It newsletter and any other tasks required. Miss Meryl Gowing: Meryl is the Administrative Assistant for the Executive Director of the Anglican Counselling Service. Meryl is responsible for IT support (Meryl ... the computer crashed again!). Mrs Nancy Christie: Nancy is the LRCCS receptionist Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings. Nancy was among the first graduates from LRCCS and will answer your general enquiries. Mrs Jane Lepp: Jane is the LRCCS Librarian in Tamworth. Jane is available 9am to 1pm on Mondays. Jane can assist you with your research enquiries. Jane is a qualified Library Technician. The Markers: There are currently 6 people marking the different units in LRCCS. When you enrol in a unit, your marker will write to you and introduce themself.
